Carpet is priced per square meter, and four things move the number:
Tiles or rolls. Carpet tiles are modular squares — easy to replace one worn piece, which is why offices love them. Carpet rolls (broadloom, in 4-meter widths) give a seamless finish for bedrooms, hotels, and function rooms.
The fiber. Olefin and polypropylene are the budget-friendly workhorses; nylon costs more but is the most durable choice for high-traffic areas like corridors and commercial spaces.
Loop pile or cut pile. Loop pile wears harder and hides foot traffic; cut pile feels softer and looks more plush.
Your floor area and site condition. Size, floor preparation, and access all affect the installed price.
